Mail Order Matron Brides of Beckham Book 9 edition by Kirsten Osbourne Romance eBooks Reviews
Loved this book. Nice to read something about a mature couple instead of all the young ones. Like those too, but nice to know there is some of the older people still looking for someone. Kirsten Osbourne writes a good story without all the heavy sexual content some authors think they need to sell books. Light content is enough. Looking for a light love story, this book is for you.
Julia has had a hard life, assisting her sick mother for 16 years. When her mom passes, Julia has nothing left, so she decides go become a mail-order bride. Edward misses having a wife and is seeking a helpmate. In this story, their love slowly grows and grows. This book was part of an earlier collection, but is now a stand-alone novel. This series never gets old and is worth reading for fans of historical romance.
When Julia's mother dies, she finds herself relieved, yet lonely. At the urging of a friend she seems out Elizabeth to perchance become a mail order bride. What she finds in Kansas is Edward Allen and he turns out to be as passionate and loving as any husband could be. After spending what seemed like a lifetime in itself taking care of her mother, Julia finds happiness on the prairie.
I like books like this when I want something that's just a good read. This met all the criteria and the writing was good along with the story. This is about two lonely people who needed someone to want them. No guarantees, no promises just "I'm willing to take a chance on you and I need to be needed."
Julia was past the age of marriage by the standards of her time and Edward was tired of living by himself and eating his own cooking. No conflict just a sweet read. I loved it. This is the first book of the series, I've read but I've already purchased the first 4 books.
I don't know how I missed his when it came our but it is just as w o wonderful to read as all the other Brides Of Beckham books except this bride is much older than most of the mail order girls. She has a long and hard life caring for her mother who contracted Polio which also killed her husband and son. This left her daughter to be at her beck and call for.16long.years
After her Mother
dies she is at loose ends and decides to.become a mail order bride to an older widower in Kansas. Will she like it there and will she like.him.???
Mail order brides always seem to be a favorite of mine but the beckham bride series and the bridal agency they all come from are wonderful story's This is the story of a young lady who is a caregiver for her mother for 16 years and after her mothers passing. at 34 manages to find happiness love and laughter as a mail order bride remarkable attention to detail ,I highly recommend this book.
The 5 star rating is for the great charactors and fabulous story. Historical romance at its finest. The reoccurring theme of mail order brides opens up a linteney of possibilities that Kirsten Osbourne takes full advantage of. With her fabulous writing skills she has given her readers wonderful books filled with heartfelt problems that finally works into a grand happy ending for all. If you love historicals, romances, and happy endings this series is for you. Read and enjoy.
